Security: Encrypt Your Laptop Hard Drive
According to The Ponemon Institute, 10,000 laptops are lost or stolen at U.S. airports each week. Considering most people travel for business, it is safe to say most of these laptops contain some type of company data.
For most of these people, having the data stolen or missing is worse than losing the device itself. Data is every company’s most valueable asset. That being said, we would like to share how you can protect your valueable data from falling into the wrong hands. There is software available that once installed on your computer will encrypt the contents of the hard drive. This make the data completely un-readable by any means with the password to decrypt it. This works by requiring a password before the computer accesses the hard drive (before booting up). We recommend a software package called PGP whole disk encryption.
It does not take a huge investment to save your company or yourself from an unfortunate disaster. Take care of your data today. Before this guy –>
does.
